AMDA Emergency Bulletin #2: Japan Earthquake

On Saturday Mar. 12th, after obtaining relief items such as batteries, water and food supplies in Niigata (AMDA's hub located 250km southwest of Sendai) AMDA's first relief team comprising two doctors, one nurse and one coordinator entered the city of Sendai in the most devastated Miyagi Prefecture.

Later that day the second relief team (one doctor and two coordinators) also left for Niigata and joined the personnel from the first team to help procuring relief goods and gather the information pertaining to the current situations in the disaster-stricken sites.

While the extent of the devastation becomes clearer over the course of time, AMDA has decided to dispatch its third team on Mar. 13th consisted of three doctors and one nurse.

AMDA President, Dr. Shigeru Suganami, will directly head to Niigata upon his return from India, and will join the advanced team members standing by in Niigata to head to Sendai at the earliest possible time.

Stay tuned for the updates.
