On Sunday "F-1 Gourmet" event will be held

Eleven temporary shopping villages from areas in Iwate and Miyagi prefectures that were badly affected by the tsunami of March 11, 2011, will each field a team this Sunday in Ofunato City to compete for bragging rights to best local dish.

Seven temporary shopping villages from Iwate Prefecture and four from Miyagi Prefecture will set up booths at Ofunato Yume Shotengai and sell "recovery gourmet"in order to promote recovery efforts of disaster affected communities. In the event, the dishes invented and cooked by using local ingredients will be introduced and made available for testing. Each dish will be sold for 300 yen and visitors vote for the one they think is the best. Pasta, curry, croquettes, tofu and seafood dishes are just a few items among those on the menu.
